The 65th series of Akademyêzingen begins in November. The series consists of three lecture days from 10:00 - 15:00 and will be held in two groups: group 1 in Leeuwarden and group 2 in Joure.
The Akademy Lectures is a series of 6 public lectures spread over the winter period. Every year the working group Akademylêzingen succeeds again in putting together an appealing series in cooperation with women's organizations in Fryslân. The lectures are open to everyone. The topics are current, educational, scientific and general-social themes, to which speakers can give their own interpretation.
Frisia and the Viking Time / Nursing in the mental health care system
Dr. Nelleke IJssennagger-van der Pluijm, Fryske Akademy and dr. Nynke Boonstra, Lecturer NHL Stenden will account for the first day, Friday, November 22. IJssennagger-van der Pluijm's lecture is on "Frisia and the Viking Time. Boonstra's lecture is on 'Nursing in the Mental Health Care'.
Geertje Lycklema a Nijholt / Infection and immunity, defense and protection
On Tuesday, January 21, Dr. Johanneke Liemburg will speak on 'Geertje Lycklema a Nijholt, 1938 - 2014 - Feminist Strategist'. Prof. Dr. Marien de Jonge, Radboud University Nijmegen, will speak on 'Infection and immunity, defense and protection'.
The future of the Nature Museum Fryslân/ Frisian Dinosaurs in a nutshell / If you were a judge, you would.... or wouldn't you?
The series will conclude on March 14, 2025. Director of Natuurmuseum Fryslân, Froukje Hernamdt, talks about 'The future of Natuurmuseum Fryslân' (morning lecture in Leeuwarden). In the afternoon in Joure, Dennis Voeten, curator of Natuurmuseum Fryslân, talks about: 'Frisian Dinosaurs in a nutshell. The origin and evolution of birds'. Mr. M.W.P.M. ter Berg, Senior counsel at the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal will speak in the morning in Joure and in the afternoon in Leeuwarden. The title of Ter Berg's lecture is: 'If you were a judge, would you.... or not?
Registration and costs
The cost for attending the entire series of Akademyêzingen (3 days) is € 30. It is not possible to order tickets for 1 day.
